Terms & Conditions
Welcome to GrammarGage! These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our application. By accessing this app, we assume you accept these terms and conditions. Do not continue to use GrammarGage if you do not agree to all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.
License to Use
Unless otherwise stated, GrammarGage and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on the app. All intellectual property rights are reserved. You may access this from GrammarGage for your own personal use, subject to restrictions set in these terms and conditions.
You must not:
- Republish material from GrammarGage
- Sell, rent, or sub-license material from GrammarGage
- Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from GrammarGage
- Redistribute content from GrammarGage
Payments & Subscriptions
GrammarGage offers optional supporter tiers through voluntary donations and subscriptions. All payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers including Stripe, Ko-fi, Patreon, and Telegram Stars. All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated.
Payment Types:
- One-Time Donations (Supporter Tier): Voluntary contributions starting at $5 or equivalent. These are single payments with no recurring charges.
- Recurring Subscriptions (Patron Tier): Monthly subscriptions starting at $7 or equivalent. These automatically renew each billing cycle until cancelled.
Auto-Renewal Notice:
By subscribing to a recurring subscription (Patron tier), you authorize us and our payment processors to automatically charge your payment method at the start of each billing cycle (monthly). Your subscription will continue until you cancel it. You may cancel at any time through your payment platform (Stripe, Ko-fi, Patreon, or Telegram Stars). Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to Patron benefits until that date.
Price Changes:
We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with 30 days advance notice. Existing subscribers will be notified via email and may cancel before the new pricing takes effect. If you do not cancel, you agree to the new pricing.
Payment Processing:
All payments are processed by third-party providers. We do not store your full payment card details. By making a payment, you also agree to the terms and conditions of the respective payment provider (Stripe, Ko-fi, Patreon, or Telegram).
Supporter Tiers & Benefits
GrammarGage offers two supporter tiers with different benefits. These tiers are voluntary and do not affect core app functionality, which remains free for all users.
Supporter Tier (One-Time Donation):
- Supporter badge displayed on your profile (if registered)
- Optional listing on our Credits page with your chosen name
- Our gratitude and support for keeping GrammarGage free
Patron Tier (Recurring Subscription):
- Patron badge displayed on your profile
- Early access to new quiz packs and features
- Voting rights on upcoming features and content
- Platform-specific badge on Credits page (Ko-fi, Patreon, Stripe, or Telegram)
- All Supporter tier benefits
No Service Guarantees:
Supporter and Patron benefits are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee continuous availability of any specific feature or benefit. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any tier benefits with reasonable notice. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund.
Account Termination:
If your account is terminated for violation of these terms, you will lose access to all tier benefits immediately, and no refunds will be provided.

Quick Summary:
- One-Time Donations: Generally non-refundable; error claims reviewed within 14 days
- Subscriptions: Cancel anytime through your payment platform; access continues until billing period ends
- Processing: Approved refunds processed in 5-14 business days depending on platform
- Chargebacks: Contact us first to avoid account termination

We use the following third-party payment processors to handle transactions:

By using these payment methods, you agree to be bound by their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for any issues arising from the use of these third-party services.
Tax Information
Not Tax-Deductible: Donations and subscriptions to GrammarGage are not tax-deductible. We are not a registered non-profit organization or charity. All payments are voluntary contributions to support the development and operation of the service.
You are responsible for determining any tax implications of your donations or subscriptions in your jurisdiction. We do not provide tax advice or documentation for tax purposes.
User-Generated Content
Our app may allow you to post, link, store, share, and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material ("Content"). You are responsible for the Content that you post on or through the service, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness.
Disclaimer
The materials on GrammarGage's app are provided on an 'as is' basis. GrammarGage makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service, and we are not liable for any loss resulting from service downtime, data loss, or unavailability of features.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrammarGage and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the service
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the service
- Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the service
- Any payment processing errors or failures by third-party providers
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which GrammarGage operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service should first be addressed by contacting us at support@grammargage.com. We will attempt to resolve disputes amicably within 30 days.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date below. Your continued use of the service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. It is GrammarGage's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you through our app.
Information We Collect
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the app, make a donation or subscription, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when you participate in activities on the app, or otherwise when you contact us.
The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the app, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:
- Name and Contact Data (email address, display name)
- Credentials (such as username and password)
- Usage Data (such as quiz scores, progress, and session statistics)
- Payment Information (processed by third-party payment providers - see below)
- Supporter Tier Information (donation/subscription status, tier level, platform)
- Transaction Metadata (donation amounts, subscription status, platform identifiers)
Payment Data Collection
When you make a donation or subscribe to a supporter tier, we collect limited payment-related information to manage your supporter benefits and process webhooks from payment providers.
What We Collect:
- Customer email address (from payment provider)
- Transaction identifiers and metadata
- Donation/subscription status and tier level
- Payment platform used (Stripe, Ko-fi, Patreon, Telegram Stars)
- Subscription start date, renewal date, and cancellation date (if applicable)
What We Do NOT Collect:
- Full credit card numbers
- CVV/security codes
- Banking credentials
All payment card details are collected and stored exclusively by our third-party payment processors (Stripe, Ko-fi, Patreon, Telegram). We never have access to your full payment card information.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information collected via our app for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations.
- To facilitate account creation and logon process
- To manage user accounts and supporter tier benefits
- To process donations and subscriptions via payment webhooks
- To display supporter badges and credits page listings
- To provide tier-specific features (early access, voting rights)
- To send administrative information and payment receipts
- To notify you of subscription renewals and cancellations
- To protect our services and prevent fraud
- To respond to user inquiries and offer support
Sharing Your Information with Third Parties
We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

When you make a donation or subscription, your payment information is shared with and processed by third-party payment providers:

These payment processors handle all sensitive payment data (card numbers, CVV codes, etc.) in compliance with PCI DSS standards. We receive only non-sensitive transaction metadata via secure webhooks to manage your supporter tier and benefits.
Webhook Data Processing:
We receive automated webhook notifications from payment processors containing transaction information (customer email, transaction ID, amount, status). This data is used solely to update your supporter tier and provide associated benefits.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active, plus 30 days after account deletion
- Usage Statistics: Retained for analysis and service improvement
- Payment Metadata: Retained for up to 7 years for accounting and tax compliance purposes
- Supporter Tier Information: Retained while active, plus 1 year after tier expiration for credits page purposes
Your Data Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Data Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service
- Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing where consent was the legal basis

Note on Payment Data: Full payment card details are held exclusively by our payment processors. To access, correct, or delete payment card information, you must contact the respective payment provider directly.
Cookies and Tracking
We use browser localStorage to store your quiz progress, settings, and session data locally on your device. This data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly create an account.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Payment processors may use cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing when you interact with their embedded payment forms.
Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Payment card data is protected by our payment processors in compliance with PCI DSS standards. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission and secure webhook verification to prevent unauthorized access to payment notifications.
Children's Privacy
Our service is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@grammargage.com, and we will delete such information.
